1. Damage from Sun Exposure
An exfoliating removes the surface layer of the skin, the uppermost part of the epidermis, which serves as a protective barrier for the skin. Once this layer is removed, the skin becomes vulnerable to sunburn, wrinkles, sun spots and cancerous lesions.
